Sitting Simply Is Really Good for You

Okay, so firstly I’m not saying to sit simply and delay or postpone your most important work. Of course, you need to do your most prioritized and important tasks and finish them as soon as possible.

But once you have finished those tasks, I would highly recommend you sit silently and quietly for at least an hour. Don’t scroll, don’t watch TV, don’t do anything, just sit silently and let your mind slow down for a bit. Put your phone in DND mode.

This will allow your brain to get some rest from endless scrolling, endless working, constant notifications, information overload, unnecessary comparisons on social media, and the pressure of always needing to be “productive.”

Your brain is constantly consuming something every single minute of the day, and honestly, most of us never give it proper time to breathe.

And trust me, being alone and silent for some time is actually way more powerful than people think.

When you sit quietly without consuming content, your brain slowly starts processing thoughts that were buried under all the noise. You become more aware of your own thinking. Your mind feels lighter, calmer, and much less crowded. Sometimes you even find solutions to problems naturally without forcing yourself to think hard about them (I have experienced this a lot of times personally).

I also noticed that silence helps reduce mental exhaustion. We don’t realize how tired our brains become from continuously switching between apps, tasks, videos, notifications, conversations, and work. Sitting quietly almost feels like restarting your brain after keeping too many tabs open for too long.

Another interesting thing is that your creativity starts improving naturally. New ideas randomly come into your mind. You start observing things differently. Your focus improves, your thoughts become clearer, and even small things start feeling less stressful.

So, here are all the cool benefits that sitting simply and alone can do for you.

I personally noticed that my thinking, ideation, creativity, clarity, and focus have been drastically boosted after I started doing this.

Just sit for around 30–45 minutes simply without doing anything, and I am 100% sure that you will start noticing the benefits very soon.

Anyways, that’s all I got for now. Until next time, stay strong and keep learning.
