How My Journey Into Tech Began

4 minutes read

Back when I was around 11 or 12 years old, I used to come home from school feeling bored most of the time.

I didn’t really know what I wanted to do back then, and honestly, my computer became the thing I spent most of my time with.

One random day while browsing online, I came across an ad that said something like:

“Earn money online in less than a day.”

It was obviously spam.

But instead of ignoring it, I got curious.

I opened a new tab and searched:
“How to earn money online.”

That one search probably changed the direction of my life without me realizing it.

Discovering the Internet Beyond Just Browsing

At first, I started exploring Paid-To-Click (PTC) websites.

The earnings were tiny, almost meaningless, but that wasn’t really the important part.

What fascinated me was the idea that people could actually build things online and make money from them.

After weeks of trying random things, I eventually earned my first dollar online.

It sounds small now, but at that age, it felt huge.

That moment made me realize the internet was much bigger than just games or browsing websites. It felt like an entirely different world filled with possibilities.

And from there, curiosity slowly turned into obsession.

How I Got Interested in Web Design

While exploring different websites, I started noticing something interesting.

A lot of them looked terrible.

The designs were messy, navigation felt confusing, and many websites simply felt hard to use.

That made me curious.

Instead of only using websites, I wanted to understand how they were actually built.

So I started learning basic HTML and CSS through YouTube videos, random tutorials, forums, and pure experimentation.

Most of my early learning process was honestly:

  • breaking things
  • fixing things
  • testing random code
  • repeating the process again

But I enjoyed it.

By the time I was 13, I had already started creating small websites and design projects.

My First Freelance Work

In the beginning, I used the name Designz5233 online.

I started offering small design services in forums and online communities.

My very first project was designing a logo and banner for someone completely free because I simply wanted experience.

When the client appreciated the work, it gave me a huge confidence boost.

That was one of the first moments where I genuinely felt:
“Maybe I can actually do something with this.”

From there, I kept learning, improving, and taking on more projects.

Starting UnikBrushes

In 2015, I started UnikBrushes.

At first, it was just me working on small projects like:

  • logos
  • banners
  • basic websites
  • forum graphics
  • simple branding work

But over time, things slowly became more serious.

I started expanding into:

  • WordPress development
  • SEO
  • digital marketing
  • branding
  • UI/UX
  • e-commerce
  • content systems

What I enjoyed most wasn’t just designing websites.

It was helping businesses grow through digital systems.

That mindset changed everything for me.

Learning Through Challenges

Not everything worked.

I tried building projects that failed.

I spent months learning things that didn’t go anywhere.

I made mistakes constantly.

But honestly, I think those phases helped me more than the successful ones.

A lot of what I know today came from:

  • experimenting
  • failing
  • rebuilding
  • adapting
  • staying consistent

Over time, I realized growth in tech isn’t really about knowing everything.

It’s more about staying curious long enough to keep evolving.

Expanding Beyond Development

As the years passed, I became interested in much more than just coding.

I started learning:

  • SEO
  • paid advertising
  • branding
  • content systems
  • user experience
  • automation
  • growth strategy

Eventually, I stopped looking at websites as standalone projects.

I started seeing them as part of a much bigger business system.

That idea later became one of the core foundations behind how I built UnikBrushes.

Building Bigger Things

In 2021, I officially registered UnikBrushes as a company and started building a proper team around it.

Around the same time, I also joined a US-based company where I worked across web development, SEO, leadership, and project management roles.

Later, I co-founded LearnyHive, an educational platform focused on helping engineering students learn more effectively.

That experience taught me a lot about:

  • systems
  • scaling
  • product thinking
  • leadership
  • long-term execution

More importantly, it reminded me that technology becomes meaningful when it genuinely helps people.

Looking Back

Sometimes it still feels strange thinking about how all of this started from one random internet ad during school days.

At that age, I was just curious.

I wasn’t planning businesses.
I wasn’t thinking about agencies.
I wasn’t thinking about careers.

I was simply exploring.

But looking back now, I think curiosity was the thing that changed everything for me.

And honestly, I still think that same curiosity is what continues to drive me even today.
